Okay, so I'm published under a different name, writing very different stuff. I spend a lot of time updating my other site, writing and editing those other books, networking, giving away prizes, chatting, posting excerpts, etc.
And I love it! It's great fun and I wouldn't trade that part of my writing career for anything.
But I have to admit, I am very excited about writing YA. It's just feels so...right. I never thoroughly grew up and it's been a strain pretending that I did all these years. Besides, what's more dramatic than the years between 12 and 20? Nothin'. Which is a good thing or we wouldn't all survive, lol.
Still, I do feel silly. I mean, I had a website for my other pen name before I was published, but not for very long. And that makes me worry...
What if I languish in unpublishitude forever before I sell? What if people look at my site, hit the contact me button and think, 'why does this chick have a yahoogroup when she doesn't even have a book out'? Am I putting the cart before the horse? Or is this just good planning?
I have no idea, but what else is new :).
